Join Head Start family service workers, parents, teachers, directors, and partners as we convene in Western Maryland at the Wisp Resort to celebrate Head Start parents and learn and share strategies to lay and strengthen the foundation of families across the state.
Although many early childhood programs recognize the importance of father involvement and its potential to positively shape young children, especially children with disabilities, fathers and father figures continue to be 'left out' of conversations and activities pertaining to their children. In this session, participants will discuss the barriers that often inhibit father involvement and will brainstorm ways to break down those barriers. Participants will have the chance to view their own practices through the lens of the Head Start Birth to Five Father Engagement Guide, highlighting successful examples of the guide in practice.
